Finally, my new website is ready. Continue reading all good news by Eat.Pole.Love here.
Do you wear makeup at the gym or do you go all natural?
I have always wondered how much dressing up is appropriate at the gym. And I have always decided so far - none. When I go to the gym I want to do my exercises properly and I am not afraid to sweat. At this, I do not want to think about whether my makeup may smudge or my mascara will run into my eyes. Yet, sometimes, when I walk by a mirror, I remind myself of Bridget Jones after her spinning class and I wish I would have put more effort into my style.
Physicians do not recommend to wear any makeup during sports. Your makeup clogs your pores and prevents your skin from breathing. This is undesirable because your body regulates its temperature by sweating and ergo your skin. Also, mascara that runs into your eyes may cause irritations. Lastly, if you do a lot of sports outdoors, you should consider that you makeup may not have a high enough sun shield to adequately protect you.
So what is your opinion? Do you think makeup during sports necessary?
This week, I did not really post a lot. Yet, do not fear, I did not stop blogging, yet, I am working on some long-term projects that take some time. Ok, and my boyfriend has bought a bike. We have made use of the good weather and went on some biking trips. It was amazing and I have prepared some delicious little picnic snacks. You can view the photos on my Instagram account.
These are my favourite links from the internet this week:
Speed-Warm-Up by Samantha Star, which will definitely warm you up and incorporates elements from Yoga, Gymnastics and Calisthenics.
Untranslatable words from different languages. 'Age-Otori' gave me a good laugh and reminded me of the many unfortunate incidents when I would have had to use it.
We all know that a frequent visit of a tanning salon is extremely unhealthy. This article demonstrates again the fatal consequence too much tanning may cause. Beware there are quite horrific images displayed. So interesting.
An interesting article about how to deal with disappointment in the pole community. You can expand this topic to every sport and life in general.
And another article about pole: 13 things that only pole dancers know.
Haha, how the purring of your cat actually increases your health.
What your favourite cereal says about you.
Have you always been a fan of Twiggy's eyes? You can download them here.
What are your plans for this weekend? Xoxoxo.
It is important to be flexible to a certain degree. If you have a limited mobility, your muscles and joints are endangered to be hurt more easily. I, however, have a hard time getting myself to stretch. To be brutally honest: I dislike stretching. I find it boring and uncomfortable. Yet, the online courses of Fit & Bendy help me a lot and I do not want to hide my discovery from you.
I know, I have missed last week's 'This weekend will be great - Links' and I feel quite guilty about it. But, unfortunately, I have a real work overload at the moment. The blog turns out to be quite challenging and I find it hard to always integrate it into my life. I am really looking forward to this weekend, though. My grandparents are celebrating 50 years of marriage (Golden wedding) and I am so proud. There are only few people who make it that far in their relationships and my grandparents are still such a cute couple.
What are your plans for this weekend? Do you have everything prepared for Mother's day?
This series about former sports fashion is hilarious. If people will think about our current fashion this way in the future?
Some really nice pictures of water. I did not think that a water surface was so impressive.
Did you know that Braun designed watches? I love the pink one most.
Rita Ora has designed some flowery sports leggings for Adidas. What a nice twist on sports fashion.
Simply beautiful slow-motion video of Sarah Scott pole dancing. This is so amazing and proves that pole sport can be quite sophisticated.
How to properly go to bed. Great!
Do you think asking these questions would change the impression on first dates?
Best Blueberry Muffins I ever had. Honestly, I had to re-bake them twice this week and I will bake them again for my mom and my step-mom. My boyfriend already ordered some to take to work. (Ps. You the recipe for 6 muffins or double the ingredients for twelve. By that, they get really nice and fluffy. Also use much more butter to get some real good crumbles) Mhhhh.
Have a good one. Xoxoxo.
The coconut is a real allrounder and many households would not like to miss it anymore. You can find the coconut in the form of oil, flour, water or milk. You can use it in endless ways and it is packed with healthy content. You should not solemnly think of it as a necessary ingredient to a good Pina Colada.
My lovelies, at least in Berlin the day are getting longer and warmer and I am really getting in the mood for summer. I just cannot wait to unpack all my beloved summer dresses. I am also so looking forward to sitting outside, picnic in the park, open air concerts, getting everywhere by bike and simply waking up every morning with sun shines.
1. This Blueberry Mojito with blueberry ice cream looks like the incarnation of a good garden party and it is a twist on one of my favourite cocktails. Mhhh.
2. Cat Empire - THE summer band that gets me instantly in the mood to dance
3. Especially when the days are getting really hot, I prefer my clothes simple. I absolutely adore this dress from &Other Stories.
4. Espadrilles are my all-time favourite summer shoes, but this ice cream design from Soludos just tops everything. I mean espadrilles and ice cream is more summer flair even possible?
5. Lip Balm with a touch of Vanilla to keep you lips soft throughout the whole summer.
Have you made any plans for the summer so far? What are your favourite summer picks this year?
It is a warm and sunny Sunday and I could be lying on the couch without feeling guilty. Instead, I went to a Jumping Fitness class with a friend and I have to admit that I sweated – a lot. So far, I completely missed Jumping Fitness as a new sports trend. And yet, it is such a great idea, I mean aerobic steps on a trampoline, is there anything more fun?
Do you love granola just as much as I do? Here is some great homemade alternative to supermarket granola
I love all kinds of granola that you can buy at the supermarket. A bummer, however, is always the look at the list of ingredients where you basically find: sugar, sugar and even more sugar. If you do not want to miss your granola, but want to try something more healthy, give this coconut-almond-honey variation a try. This granola is prepared in almost 10 minutes and you really do not want to miss out on the warm smell of the coconut oil – honey combination.
When I started Pole Sport, I quite quickly thought that it would be time to get a Pole on my own. I figured that I could practice much more, advance even quicker and on top save sooooo much money. Oh, if I would just have that Pole on my own, I would probably be a professional already by that time.
When I moved into a new apartment, I finally fulfilled my dream and got a Pole. And there it is – the center of my living room, silvery and shiny, and definitely the most expensive interior accessory I have invested in. Yet, it is almost never used. Every day I pass by my Pole and the guilt inside me increases. I tell myself that tomorrow (definitely tomorrow) I will start to train again. But, today and tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, something will always occur that keeps me from sticking with my ‘plan’.
