During my semester abroad in Leeds, UK, I have discovered my love for porridge. Porridge is super easy to make, offers endless possibilities of combination and it is a real super-breakfast for athletes with its major share of oats.
Today, I want to share my favourite porridge recipe with you: Porridge - Blueberry Pie
Pssst. It only takes 5 min. to prepare.

Ingredients:
Oats
Water or Milk
frozen blueberries
Honey
Vanilla extract
Oats

Honey
Vanilla extract
Firstly, you pour the oats and some milk or water into a saucepan and heat everything up under constant stirring until the oats and the liquid combine into a creamy texture.
You have to test out how much you want to use of each ingredient. I use about half a cup of oats for my breakfast and I use just enough milk to cover the oats. I prefer my porridge rather dry. If you prefer your porridge rather liquid, use more milk and if you prefer a lighter version, use water instead of milk.
Beware: When you scrape the porridge out of the sauce pan, it always looks too few to get you full. Yet, in combination with fruits, nuts or whatever, it becomes extremely filling.
Besides, the texture of your porridge also depends on the oats. I, again, prefer old fashioned oats, but buy instant oats if you prefer a creamy texture.

Pour the blueberries, a little bit of water, the honey and the vanilla into a second saucepan and again heat it up until it simmers. Pour the blueberry sauce onto the porridge and garnish with some nuts, if you like.
Le voilà - super quick, super yummy and the day may start.
Ps. You are in an extreme hurry? Prepare everything in the microwave or add the blueberries, honey and vanilla without pre-cooking to the porridge.
What are your favourite porridge combinations? Do you have a great tip to start the day in a healthy way?
