I love all kinds of granola that you can buy at the supermarket. A bummer, however, is always the look at the list of ingredients where you basically find: sugar, sugar and even more sugar. If you do not want to miss your granola, but want to try something more healthy, give this coconut-almond-honey variation a try. This granola is prepared in almost 10 minutes and you really do not want to miss out on the warm smell of the coconut oil – honey combination.
Ingredients:
6 cups of old fashioned oats
2 cups almonds, finely chopped
a pinch of salt
a pinch of brown sugar
1 Tablespoon Honey
3 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
some Vanilla and Almond extract
6 cups of old fashioned oats
2 cups almonds, finely chopped
a pinch of salt
a pinch of brown sugar
1 Tablespoon Honey
3 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
some Vanilla and Almond extract
That’s how it's done:
1. Mix the oats, almonds, sugar and salt in a large bowl. If you prefer your granola even more crunchy, try to substitute one cup of finely chopped almonds for some whole almonds which you chop coarsely;
2. Melt the coconut oil and the honey in a pan, but make sure that both ingredients are slowly melted and at a low temperature to keep the healthy contents. Add the vanilla and almond extract;
3. Add the liquid ingredients to the oats and stir until everything is evenly coated;
4. Spread the oats on a baking sheet, lined with baking paper and bake everything in the oven for about 5 Minutes at 350 degrees. After 5 Minutes, give your almost-ready-granola a good stir and bake it for another 5 Minutes or until it has a golden color. Leave it to cool completely – et voilá: You are in seventh granola heaven.
